May 2022

Simeon Big Eagle

Yankton High School junior, Simeon Big Eagle, has been named November Student of the Month by Horizon Health Care and Hot Country 93.1. He was nominated by teachers and a guidance counselor at Yankton High School, who say he is a model student both in the classroom and out.

“Simeon has had such a positive turn around the last couple of years and this year especially. He has been impressive this year to both the staff and student body. I have never been prouder of a student than I am of Simeon.”

– YHS Nominator

Simeon is involved in track at YHS and is on the Merit Honor Roll.

Other comments on Big Eagle’s nomination stated that he tackles any challenge and has the desire to succeed and that more students should be like Simeon. One nominator also said, “I can say unequivocally that I have never seen a more significant, positive change in a student as I have seen from him. I have never been impacted and prouder of a student than I am of Simeon Big Eagle.”

Big Eagle’s hobbies and interests include music, playing board games, participating in track, as well as dungeons and dragons.

Simeone’s parent is Mallory Wriedt of Tabor. After high school he plans to attend college to pursue a degree in music.
