Open Skate at the 4-H Ice Arena

Enjoy open skate at the Kiwanis 4-H Ice Arena In Yankton. Open skate days include:

Wednesday November 24, 1-4 PM

Friday November 26, 1-4 PM

 

Hall of Trees

Spark your holiday spirit at the 4th annual Mead Hall of Trees! This display will be open from Saturday, November 27 to Saturday, January 15th. Up to 50 trees will be on display alongside the new Tonka Toy and Snow Globe exhibits put together by local collectors! All children receive free admission to the museum in December! Adult admission is $8.00 and Senior admission is $5.00.

 

Yankton Holiday Festival of Lights

On Thursday, December 2nd, The City of Yankton will host the annual Holiday Festival of Lights, that includes the Parade of Lights & Tree Lighting Ceremony, to celebrate Yankton’s holiday season.

Parade begins at 6pm with the tree lighting ceremony at 7pm at the entrance of the Meridian Bridge. Fireworks to follow.

The deadline for parade registration is Friday, November 19th. Register online at www.yanktonfestivaloflights.com.

 

A Prairie Christmas on Stage

With every Christmas busier than the last, we often seek a warm voice to remind us of what Christmas is all about. Riverfront Broadcasting presents, “A Prairie Christmas On Stage” hosted by longtime broadcaster, Jeff Gould , on Thursday, December 2nd at 7:30pm, located at the Lewis & Clark Dakota Theatre.

The event features heartwarming Christmas stories sprinkled with nostalgia, along with the holiday music you love. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Purchase advance tickets at the Riverfront Broadcasting studio, located at 1019 Broadway Ave. or First Dakota National Bank -Yankton locations.

Vermillion’s Standstill Parade of Lights

The 6th Annual Standstill Parade of Lights will be held in Downtown Vermillion on Thursday, December 2nd at 6:00 pm to officially kickoff the holiday season. Don’t miss Santa Claus as he officially lights the Vermillion Christmas tree. Come check out the floats, designed by businesses and organizations throughout the Vermillion Area. Prizes will be awarded to the best floats.

Breakfast with Santa

It’s the10th Annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 4th at St. Agnes School Gym in Vermillion from 9am-Noon. This event is open to the Community. Serving a French Toast Breakfast for $5 per person. Plus get pictures with Santa and enjoy kids crafts and activities.

Tabor’s Holiday Light Parade

The 3rd Annual Holiday Light Parade in Tabor will be held on Saturday, December 4th. Enjoy a fun-filled evening of festivities with a Craft Vendor Fair inside Beseda Hall beginning at 5pm. Also at 5pm, Sleigh Rides begin and run till 7pm. The Parade of Lights will begin at 6:00pm and will run through twice.

A meal will be available inside Beseda Hall starting at 6:30-8:00pm. Cost is $5 per plate, Kids 8 & under are free. The Ham Drawing will begin at 8pm along with Santa visits for the kids and goodie bags. There will also be a Gun Raffle as well as options to purchase Legion Vegas Night tickets, Czech Days Countdown Calendars and more!

Elf The Musical

Lewis & Clark Theatre Company presents Elf The Musical December 9 at 8pm, 10-11 & 17-18 at 7:30 pm with matinee’s on December 12 & 19 at 2 pm. 

A modern-day holiday favorite based on the beloved film, Buddy the Elf feels out of place at the North Pole and embarks on a quest to New York City to find his birth father, but Buddy learns quickly that New York City is nothing like the North Pole and, to his horror, his father is on the naughty list. Endearing, funny, and sweet, Buddy the Elf will win your heart. After all, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

Visit Santa At The Museum

Santa Claus will make a stop at the Mead Cultural Education Center on Saturday December 11th from 2-4 pm. Be sure to bring your camera as there will not be a professional photograph onsite. This event is included in admission to the museum. Adults $8, Seniors $5, Kids free admission in December. Plus, enjoy the Hall of Trees and 3 new exhibits.
