September Bragging Rights

The last Bragging Rights of the year will be held on Thursday, September 28th at 5pm. Support the community non profits with your love of cars! Come on out with your classic car, motorcycle, anything you have! YSD Angel Fund is serving walking tacos, fresh fruit salad, black bean/corn salad, and lemonade for a free will donation. Bring your lawn chairs, come out for food, friends, music and supporting our community!

Bragging Rights is located behind Missouri River Associates at 124 Walnut in Yankton.

Barks & Brews

It’s Barks & Brews on Sunday, October 1st at Ben’s Brew Station. Don’t miss out on this fundraiser benefiting the Heartland Humane Society from 4-7pm. Tickets are $25 each and includes food and fun. Enjoy games, raffles, and more plus the wrap up the 2023 auction. They have set a goal of raising $100,000! Help the HHS make that goal a reality so that they can continue to feed, foster, care for and arrange adoptions for animals all around the region who need a new home.

A Brilliant Moment in Time

Yankton Area Arts is pleased to announce the exhibit on display at G.A.R. Hall Art Gallery. “A Brilliant Moment in Time” is a solo exhibit by artist David Kahle. David is the Mount Marty Art Professor and the sole Director of the Bede Art Gallery.  The artwork combines a variety of media including prints and oils. The exhibit is on display from now through October 10th. A special reception honoring the artist will take place on Friday, October 6th from 5:00-6:30 pm. Space for the reception is limited and available on request.

 

Yankton’s Got Talent

Yankton Area Arts is looking for all kinds of talent. Yankton’s Got Talent is coming up on October 20th at 7 pm at the Meridian Venue. 12-15 different talent acts will participate in the talent show. To enter for auditions, simply tape yourself while performing your talent, post it to social media and hashtag it #Yanktonsgottalent23. YAA will review the auditions on October 5th-7th and contact the talent that will be in the show on October 8th. All are welcome and encouraged to audition.

Haunted History Tours 2023

The Mead Museum is offering two nights of Haunted History Tours on Friday, October 20 & Saturday, October 21 from 6 -8:30pm. A map will guide you between five historic Yankton sites where a narrator will present the building history & its haunting stories. Your ticket will be stamped at each site & when you collect all five stamps, you can enter for prize give-a-way! Non-member tickets are $25 & Member tickets cost $15.

Tickets with tour map must be picked up at the Mead Museum by 4 PM on Saturday, October 21.

 

Haunted History Tours: Overnight Experience

Stay overnight at the Mead Museum on Saturday, October 28th from 7pm- Sunday, October 29 at 7am at the Haunted History Tours: Overnight Experience 2023! Tickets are $50.00 each. The event will include a midnight tour of the historic 1909 Mead Building where guests will be taken to places off limits to the public & staff will share their spooky stories. A team of paranormal investigators & a tarot card reader will be there as well. Snacks are included along with a continental breakfast in the morning. Must at least 16 years or older to attend.
