4 of Clubs Fundraiser

Clay County 4-H and the Clay County Fair Board are teaming up for a CHASING THE 4 OF CLUBS fundraiser event. All proceeds raised will go towards construction and equipment costs for a Community Kitchen at the 4-H Center.

Tickets will be sold each Wednesday at the Clay County Extension Office from 1-5 pm and at other dinning areas. Two winners will be drawn each Wednesday at 7:45 pm. Two weekly winners will receive $50 in Vermillion Bucks and have a 1:52 chance of drawing the 4 of CLUBS at the Grand Finale and winning half of the total event pot.

Yankton Area Summer Band

The Yankton Area Summer Band concerts are back for the summer the amphitheater in Riverside Park. All musicians are invited to participate and everyone is welcome to come and listen!

Performers practice at 6:30 pm, take a short break around 7:30, then play our official concert at 8:00 pm.

The band will present concerts on each Tuesday, June 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th & July 4th.

LCTC Chapter Two

Lewis & Clark Theatre Company presents Neil Simon’s award winning comedy drama Chapter Two.

Recent widower, writer George Schneider, is encouraged by his younger brother Leo to start dating again. This sends George into even more depression after a series of bad matches. Then Leo comes up with Jennie Malone, and she’s a keeper. Still, it’s a bumpy trip on the road to Dreamland for these not-so-young lovers. George and Jennie stumble on, overcoming both their hesitation on the rebound and emotional neediness. In a hilarious, farcical subplot, Leo has a fling with Faye, Jennie’s neurotic married friend.

Show dates are June 8-10 & 16-17 at 7:30 pm and June 11 & 18 at 2:00 pm at the historic Dakota Theatre.

Yankton Ribfest

Yankton’s Ribfest is back in downtown Meridian District on Saturday, June 10th. Food vendors will be open starting at 11am. Free entertainment include Ten Dollar Trio at 11am, Rock Hardys perform at 2pm, Buckmiller Schwager Band from 5-8pm, and Wakefield from 8-midnight.

Yankton Ribfest will have a dedicated kids area with plenty of activities including inflatables. There’s still time to register for the amateur rib contest, corn hole tournament, and new this year is the Devil Dogs, Hot Rods, & Hogs Car and Bike Show starting at 11am with judging at 1pm.

South Dakota Shakespeare Festival

Join the South Dakota Shakespeare Festival for a Celebration of Shakespeare, June 11-18th at Vermillion’s Prentis Park. The festival kicks off with Bark with the Bard 5K on Sunday, June 11th at 3pm. Bring your family and furry friend for an afternoon full of sunshine.

Catch the movie “Shakespeare in Love” on Monday, June 12th at the Coyote Twin Theatre at 7pm. Test your knowledge with Shakespeare Trivia on Tuesday, June 13th at the Dakota Brickhouse at 8pm. On Wednesday, June 14th, join in on the fun with Adult Shakespeare Impov. at the Varsity Pub at 8pm. Artist Devon Glover, The Sonnet Man, will be performing Hip Hop Shakespeare at 7pm on Thursday, June 15th at Prentis Park.

Enjoy A Celebration on Shakespeare Friday-Sunday, June 16th-18th at Prentis Park each night at 7pm.

 

Pass It On Baseball/Softball Clinic

Riverfront Broadcasting is bringing back our FREE baseball and softball clinic! This clinic is held in support of Mount Marty University and the Yankton Parks and Recreation department.
It is for kids ages 8-18 and will be located at Riverside park in Yankton on Monday, June 12th from 9am to Noon.
This event will feature Les Norman along with the coaches and players from Mount Marty University!

June Bragging Rights

It’s the first bragging rights of the year on Thursday, June 29th at 5pm! Support the community non profits with your love of cars! Come on out with your classic car, motorcycle, anything you have! Each month, a non profit organization will be serving a meal for a free will donation. Bring your lawn chairs, come out for food, friends, music and supporting our community!

Bragging Rights is located behind Missouri River Associates at 124 Walnut in Yankton.
