Thirty-two years ago this week, the country genre mourned the death of the singer-songwriter known for hits like “I’m No Stranger to the Rain” and “When You Say Nothing at All.” This Kentucky native died at just 34 years old, but he charted 12 singles on Billboard country charts during his life and added seven more to that total posthumously.
