Brett Young's 'In Case You Didn't Know' Certified 8x Platinum

Brett Young's smash hit "In Case You Didn't Know" has been certified 8X Platinum by the RIAA.

The song is one of the only three country songs in the past 5 years to achieve the 8X multi-Plantinum certification. Young co-wrote the song along with Trent Tomlinson and Tyler Reeve. The song was released to radio on January 9, 2017 as the second single from Young's debut self-titled album (2017).

"Eight times PLATINUM - that's pretty wild," Young said. "I could never have imagined what this song would become when we first wrote it. It's humbling to have created something that has resonated so strongly with so many people."

"'In Case You Didn't Know' is one of only three country singles released in the past five years to achieve RIAA 8X multi-Platinum or higher! Just three," said Jackie Jones, VP of Artist and Industry Relations at RIAA. "Congratulations to Brett and his Big Machine team on this incredible achievement!"

Ryan Hurd Shares 'Pass It On' Video Featuring Cameo From Wife Maren Morris

Ryan Hurd recently released a video for "Pass It On," a single from his debut album, Pelago, which arrived last year.

The video, directed by Nicki Fletcher and Mason Allen, features a cameo from Hurd's wife Maren Morris. It opens with Hurd walking into an almost empty roller skating rink and showcasing his skill.

Morris appears midway through the video. After sharing a drink, the two head out to the rink, with more people joining the fun as Hurd sings along.

"Pass it on / Pass it on / Pass it on to someone else / What good is your dollar or your love or your bottle / There's enough to go around / So send it on down / 'Cause you can't take it with you when you're gone," Hurd sings in the chorus.

Hurd co-wrote "Pass It On" with Morris, Jordan Schmidit and Michael Hardy.

Pelago reached the top five of Spotify's most streamed country albums and features "Chasing After You," the Platinum-certified duet with Morris. The song earned a nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards as well as two nominations at The 55th Annual CMA Awards.

Reba McEntire To Reunite With Melissa Peterman For Lifetime Movie 'The Hammer'

A new Lifetime movie, in which Reba McEntire reunites with "Reba" castmate Melissa Peterman, is set to release later this year.

McEntire is also the executive producer of this made-for-TV film, titled Reba McEntire's The Hammer.

The country music superstar and her "Reba" sitcom co-star will be starring as sisters who find themselves entangled in a death investigation.

In the film inspired by the true story of traveling Nevada circuit judge Kim Wanker, McEntire will play the role of Kim Wheeler, "an outspoken, firecracker lawyer who is appointed Judge of the 5th District of Nevada, and is one of the few traveling judges left in America."

The Lifetime synopsis describes Wheeler as one "who hands down justice unlike anyone else".

"With gavel in hand, she lays down the law with a no-nonsense brand of justice, that quickly earns her the nickname 'The Hammer,'" it added.

In 2021, McEntire starred in and executive produced the film, Reba McEntire's Christmas in Tune, which marked her debut collaboration with Lifetime.

Garth Brooks To Release 'The Anthology 2: The Next Five Years' This Fall

Garth Brooks To Release 'The Anthology 2: The Next Five Years' This Fall

Garth Brooks has revealed that he will be releasing the latest edition of his anthology book/CD series, The Anthology 2: The Next Five Years, in November.

Brooks has already released the inaugural anthology set, which covered the first five years of his career, and Anthology 3, which featured never-before-seen live concert moments.

Anthology 2 chronicles his career from 1996 through his retirement in 2000. The set will contain six CDs featuring previously unreleased tracks.

Interviews by Bob Dylan and Keith Urban are included in the book.

"We got the green light. We're ready. This thing is almost 300 pages with almost 280 something photographs in it, which is crazy," Brooks said on his Facebook Live series, "Inside Studio G."

The unreleased tracks include Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood covering Bob Dylan's "To Make You Feel My Love."

Speaking about the duet, Brooks said, "Miss [Trisha] Yearwood started this conversation with us about a duet that we had cut on Bob Dylan's 'To Make You Feel My Love' for Hope Floats. She sang the 'walking home in the rain' line - I did the title track for it. And then she claims there was a duet done with just strings and a guitar.

"And I didn't want to tell my wife she was drinking but. And we dug in the vault, and sure enough there it was. This thing is gorgeous. It's beautiful, so it's in the Anthology as well," he added.

Luke Combs Opens Up About Struggles With Weight

Country star Luke Combs has opened up about his struggles with weight and how earnestly he wants to get healthy for his newborn son.

In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Combs revealed that he has been overweight partly because of his unhealthy food habits.

"It was always something that's bugged me. especially when you're younger," he said. "You're like, 'Man, I just got a horrible genetic dice roll on this thing.' You start to realize that almost even more when you're older and it's like, not that I don't pig out because I do pig out."

"I'm not trying to say it's not my fault because it is in a lot of ways," he added. "But also, I got to this point where I'm like, man, I'd really love to trim down. And it's so hard for me to do that."

However, Combs is now more motivated to get healthy, as the singer and his wife, Nicole, welcomed a baby boy named Tex on June 19.

"This having a kid thing has really messed up my head on this thing in the best way," he said. "I want to be around, dude. Do you know what I mean?"

Garth Brooks To Be Honored With Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award

Garth Brooks To Be Honored With Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award

The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) has announced that Garth Brooks will be the next recipient of the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award.

He will be honored at the annual Nashville Songwriter Awards ceremony, to be held on September 20 at the Ryman Auditorium.

The Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed to an individual whose works have made a significant contribution to the American songbook and one who has inspired the careers of others.

Loretta Lynn (2019), Bill Anderson (2018) and Willie Nelson (2013) are the previous recipients.

Chosen personally by Kris Kristofferson, this award speaks to the footprint that Brooks has left on the history of American music and to the inspiration that he has provided for thousands of other aspiring songwriters and artists throughout his illustrious career.

"It's pretty damn embarrassing to give a man of Garth's stature an award with my name on it," said Kristofferson. "When Willie got one he said he could take care of that. Congratulations Garth, I am truly humbled and honored that you have accepted this! You belong on Mount Rushmore. See you there."

"When they name awards after artists, that award takes on an even greater meaning. Kristofferson is known as the songwriter's songwriter...and he should be," said Brooks. "The honor is the name on the award and the names who have received it. My hope is that through time, the Garth Brooks name is worthy of such an honor. This is going to be a cool night."

Many of the recipients of the Nashville Songwriter Awards are determined by a community of peer professional writers. They honor their most-admired songs from the past year to determine the 'Song of the Year' and the '10 Songs I Wish I'd Written' awards.

Ticket on-sale information will be released at a later date, NSAI said.

Swift wrote on social media, "About a year & half ago I wrote a song about the story of a girl who always lived on the outside, looking in. Figuratively & literally. Swift had announced "Carolina" in March, revealing that the song will feature in the forthcoming film adaptation of Delia Owens' hit 2018 novel "Where The Crawdads Sing." The film stars Daisy Edgar Jones and is produced by Reese Witherspoon.

The song was previously teased in a trailer for the movie as well. Aaron Dessnee co-produced the track with Swift.
