A Los Angeles judge has denied Cher’s request for a temporary conservatorship over her son, Elijah Blue Allman.
The decision came after Cher asked the court to appoint someone to manage Allman’s financial affairs, citing concerns about his health, substance use, and access to money from a trust connected to his late father, Gregg Allman. The judge ruled that the request did not show enough immediate urgency to justify a temporary conservatorship.
Allman, 49, appeared remotely for the hearing from a psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire, where he is receiving treatment while also facing criminal charges. The ruling was made without prejudice, which means Cher can bring the request back to court in the future.
Cher previously filed a similar petition in 2023, but later withdrew it after reaching a private agreement with her son.
The case remains a private family matter playing out in court, with the judge’s latest decision leaving Allman without a temporary conservator for now.
